i think my favourite version of this song is still the Yo La Tengo version, tho the first time i heard it was the Yo La Tengo version where the author ( Daniel Johnston) was singing it over the telephone whilst YLT was in the some radio station playing the music...

i dun have teh YLT version anymore, tho. i had it on a 45, and i think i gave it to iheart45s, or eBay'd it for some ridiculous amount of monies - cos that's what yeh do with obscure vinyl.

This version is good tho, yeah. it needs to be sung in that 'little girl in the liquor cabinet' voice, i think. Mary Lou can do that.


In the Umbrella Academy comic, the team travels via 'Tele-vators', which teleport them from elevator to elevator.
